Inc. Magazine, the only major business magazine dedicated exclusively to owners and managers of growing private companies, featured locally based McKinley Carter Wealth Services ("McKinley Carter") among their exclusive list of "Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America: The 2009 Inc. 5000".

The 2009 Inc. 5000 is Inc. Magazine's third annual list. The magazine unveiled this exclusive list via their website, Inc.com on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 and will be featured in their September 2009 issue of Inc. Magazine.

To qualify companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2005, and able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they have to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2008. Revenue in 2005 must have been at least $200,000, and revenue in 2008 must have been at least $2 million. The top 10 percent of companies on the list constitute the Inc. 500, now in its 28th year.

McKinley Carter was 1 of 8 West Virginia businesses featured in this exclusive list and was 1 of 200 companies featured in the financial services sector.
